ABOUT RENEE
Photographer and makeup artist Renee Parenteau has more than 25 years’ experience serving clients in business, entertainment, advertising and professional sports, bringing skill, artistry and passion to every project.
A native of Oregon who grew up in an Army family and worked for many years in California and Europe, Renee moved to Jacksonville in 2007. She started her professional photography studio in Historic Springfield that same year. Since then, she has made clients of every description look their best.
Renee’s local clients include Jacksonville’s current and former mayors, corporate leaders such as Preston Haskell, nonprofit leaders such as Audrey Moran, and celebrities like Olympic gold medalist Shannon Miller. And her corporate clients have included Rayonier, Swisher, Shands Jacksonville, Rogers Towers, Leadership Jacksonville and CSX. She has also photographed Ben Vereen, Greg Norman, Cindy Edelman, Wayne Wood and Judge Suzanne Bass, among others.
Renee has also traveled widely as a professional makeup artist, working with celebrities including Kenny Chesney, Denzel Washington, Selena Gomez, Trisha Yearwood, Ryan Lochte, Chelsea Handler, Sergio Garcia, Dion Sanders and Roberta Flack. Her work has graced the covers of publications like People Magazine, Runner's World and The New York Times Magazine, and her corporate clients have included Boeing, Microsoft, Levi's, T-Mobile, Nike and Univision.
A native English speaker, Renee is also fluent in Spanish and French, having studied abroad and spent years working in Europe on production shoots for clients like Pepsi and Taylormade/Adidas Golf. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and the Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington, and has completed programs in fashion merchandising and special effects and beauty makeup. She acquired her formal photography training in Madrid through EFTI (Escuela de Fotografía Centro de Imagen).
Renee has been heavily involved in the community since moving to the First Coast. She serves on the board of directors of Global Jax and is a member of JAX Chamber, Impact Jax and the Jacksonville Professional Photography Association. She is a member of the Springfield Area Preservation Association and has been a sponsor of PorchFest. Additionally, she has provided her services for free to organizations including Community Connections, the Clara White Mission, the Sulzbacher Center, Springfield Animal Care and Rescue, and Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, among many others. She donates her work every year to the Shannon Miller Foundation Fun Run and 5k.
A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Renee runs, bikes, kayaks and takes full advantage of Northeast Florida’s many natural assets. A frequent guest on local TV shows like The Chat and River City Live, she was a 2014 Jacksonville Business Journal Woman of Influence and is proud to have been named JAX Chamber Downtown Council’s 2016 Small Business Leader of the Year.
